The  rumor  making  its  way  around  the  internet  today,  is  that  Oprah,  is  looking  to  buy  a  place  in  DC  to  be  near Barack Obama. Her  desire  to  be  near  the  new  president  is  understandable,  given  what  appeared  to  be  their  close  relationship  during the Campaign.  The  quaint  home  that  she  has  picked  out  is  a  9  bedroom,  8.5 bath mansion  in  Northwest  Washington DC.  The  home  sits  on  just over  3.5  acres  of  land  and  is  quite  stunning  in  an  understated  way.

The home which sits  on  3.58 acres  is  over  4  stories  tall,  and  was  built  in  1801.  As  mentioned  before  the  home  consists  of  9  bedrooms,  8.5 total  baths (6 full  5 half baths),  a partially  finished  basement  and  maids  quarters.  Among  the  other  listed  features  are  an  elevator, stunning  gardens  and  “Security features”.    Below  is  a gallery  of  images  for  the  home. It’s  true  Coldwell  Banker  did  close  both  its  Somerville  and  Waterfront  offices.  The  story  going  around  town  is  that  the  agents  will  be  grouped  into  other  area  offices. It’s  sad  day  for  some  agents  who  have  made  their  careers  out  of  that  waterfront  office.
